Our Staff

Eric Dirksen | pastor

Eric is an ordained minister in the Christian Reformed Church who moved to Davis to start Christ Church.

Eric and Shelly fell in love with Davis the first moment they took the time to get some ice cream and walk around.  When the opportunity presented itself to "plant" a new church in Davis, they couldn't resist.  Though they have lived throughout the US, it is Davis they are proud to call "home."

They are committed to seeing Christ Church become a church that remembers what it is like not to believe, a church that remembers faith is a journey, and a church that remembers it has a role to play in the ongoing redemptive story of Jesus.  You can follow Eric on Twitter at @EricJDirksen

Sarah Majorins | worship arts

Sarah is an arranger, composer and Church musician. She writes and arranges all types of music, particularly music for use in Church settings. Sarah has been a professional church musician for 13 years and facilitates music and liturgy that is creative and diverse.

She believes that liturgical music should be historical in breadth yet accessible, dynamic and beautiful to all participants. Sarah attended UC Davis from 2001 – 2007, where she earned a Masters then Ph.D. in Music Theory and Composition. She is pleased to be living in Davis, directing worship arts with her husband, Philip.

Philip Majorins | worship arts

Philip has been employed as a youth minister, teacher, construction worker, residence director, waiter, and musician. He holds a Masters degree in Historical Theology and is greatly interested in cultivating beautiful and participatory liturgy.  Philip finds great joy in partnering with his wife Sarah towards this end.  He finds all of life to be an act of worship and considers the title "salt of the earth" to be among the most important given to those who follow Jesus.  Follow his work for the liturgical arts at www.liturgyletter.com
